National Meet on Rural Women Empowerment
Head of Honour for Women National Campaign Ms. Manasi Pradhan inaugurating the ‘National Meet on Rural Women Empowerment’ along with the National Commission for Women Chief Ms. Mamta Sharma. The national jamboree held at Chilka, Odisha, is first such meet to be held in the state in recent years. The meet was organised as part of the “Nirbhaya Fortnight” being observed across the country from June 16 – June 29 by the Honour for Women National Campaign. Over 5000 rural women delegates deliberated on different issues and problems holding back their development and came up with a detailed roadmap for their empowerment. The draft proposal has been send to all state governments and the Honour for Women National Campaign volunteers has been assigned the task of building pressure on their respective state governments for their speedy implementation.
